Dee Dee's Mission Trip to Alaska

I honestly can’t believe it! The Iditarod has always been a bucket list item for me. This February I have an opportunity to serve on a Mission Team with GraceWorks Alaska. The main event of the trip is The Iditarod! The chance to participate and serve Christ while doing so is something only God could orchestrate. An added blessing is that I will be serving alongside my brother Brian!
Members of our team will set up the Iditarod Start fencing in Willow and serve as credentialed volunteers putting on the Race Start. Afterwards, we will tear down the fencing and load it all back into the Iditarod truck. Some volunteers will be trail guards, others will oversee parking security, and some will be trained to be dog handlers. All volunteers help with the tear down and clean up after the race. We will be working alongside other race volunteers, mushers, and musher friends and families. It will be an amazing opportunity to share our faith in Christ.
In addition, we will serve the homeless, work with kids at the Boys & Girls Club, kids in parks, serve in senior living homes, painting and handyman projects. All done in the name of Jesus!
